The Making of ‘Non Non Biyori’ Bus Shelter

Today, I am going to show you how I made the bus shelter which I used as a nendoroid diorama for Nendoroid Renge Miyauchi on my previous shoot.

The bus shelter is based from the anime, Non Non Biyori. It is where they usually wait for the bus after school.

Materials used:
Lumber wood
Jigsaw power tool
sand paper
glue
ruler
wood stain
card board
silver spray paint

1. Determine the length, width and height needed for the bus shelter, then cut lumber with the jigsaw power tool according to the size.

2. I cut some pieces for the back and sides of the bus shelter.

3. Glue them all together

4. I also cut 4 pieces of thin wood for the roofing and another one for the bench.

5. I peeled off the top layer of my cardboard to expose the corrugation. I did the same on the other side of the cardboard. I used a silver spray paint to make it look like a tin roof, just like in the anime.

Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the painting process. To make it look similar from the anime, I painted the lower part of the bus shelter with a cherry wood stain.

Now it’s finished and ready for the photo shoot!

The bus sign is something I got from google images and printed it to a photo paper. The base is made of Polystyrene and painted it with grey poster color.
