I’m sharing you today the video of how I build the kitchen room and how it was made from scratch. From planning, gathering materials up to building the diorama.
The Kitchen Set
Step 1
I looked for a kitchen inspiration online, saved and printed it to give me an idea. I started by drawing a pattern on a graphing paper according to the size I want with a Nendoroid beside it. This is to ensure that I won’t be making a miniature kitchen that is too big for them.
To be honest, I didn’t think of the exact size at that moment. Back in High School, we had a Drafting subject so I applied what I learned in the past. I drew the Kitchen’s top, side and front view.
For this project, I wanted it to be scaled with my Nendoroid and Cu-poche.
Step 2
I gathered all the materials I needed for this project. Sheet wood is expensive and hard to find in our area so I tried to look for something else until I found a PVC board in our local school supplies (National Bookstore). Sintra board is also another option. This kind of material is commonly used for signs printing, mounting and displaying digital prints on shops. Plus, PVC board is a lot easier to cut.
You can watch the rest of the tutorial in the video below:
Installing a Sliding Door
Since most of my diorama are built to disassemble easily, I tried a unique trick on making a sliding door. Being resourceful is the key.
I’m not sure what it’s called but I also found it in our school supplies. It is made of plastic.
I used it to make the door slide.
Precast for Doors and Windows
Precast enhances the architectural style of the miniature house. So I made something modern using PVC board.
If you watch the video tutorial above, you will also see how the window is assembled.
That’s all for today guys. Next post will be a tutorial how I made the kitchen sink and the exterior house wall.
