Last weekend, I went to the biggest toy convention in the Philippines, Toycon 2015. Aside from meeting some of the fans and friends at Hubbyte Toy Store, I also met a few people from Sony Philippines. It was yet another wonderful event and amazing experience for me to be able to partner up with one of the biggest camera brand in the world.
As I was busy the whole day helping out our friend with his store, it was already late when I got a chance to take photos of some of toy collector’s display using the magnificent Sony Alpha A7 Mark II. I’m still new with a full-frame mirrorless camera so I decided to test it out in the event.
Sadly, I didn’t get the chance to shoot much anime figures in the exhibit area that night because it’s already closing time! I went back to the store and helped our friend to pack things up.
Being a dslr user, it’s not as hard as it may seem to learn the basic with A7 II but there are many options in the camera that I should explore in a week or so. I was really impressed with the result of the photos, none of these are heavily edited, I only made a few tweaks in exposure and contrast in Lightroom. I’ll be using this promising camera in my next photo shoots. Watch out for more figure photography soon! (* ̄O ̄)ノ
Nice photos! 🙂
Thank you 🙂
I like mirrorless because it’s so much lighter to carry around at cons than my DSLR stuff. I think I’m past the age of being able to walk around for long hours with a large amount of weight on my shoulders XD
I’ve been thinking about that too. I don’t bring my dslr in cons because of the weight and bulkiness, but this one’s been a good companion last Toycon. It’s heavy but not as much as the one I’ve been using for years.
There’s so much to love about this convention and I don’t know where to start! 😀
There were toys everywhere! 😀
This pretty awesome toycon and they displayed those figures and staue so nicely
Toycon is more focused on Western toys though, but I like how everything was displayed. Next year’s toycon will be held in a bigger convention hall which I think is a great news. 😀
