Dark Magician Girl also known as Black Magician Girl in Japanese version is a card used in many of Yugi’s duels in Yu-Gi-Oh!.
I am sure many Yu-Gi-Oh! fans are delighted with Kotobukiya’s release of Cu-Poche Dark Magician Girl. This is sculpted by Naoki Nishimura. When I saw her promotional photos several months ago, I was blown away by its cuteness.
I am so happy to add this to my collection and my special thanks goes out to Kotobukiya for giving me another cute Cu-poche figure. This photo set is also featured on their Facebook page. If you have time, go check it out here. ^_^
I went to Post Office to pick this up last week despite of the storm in our country. I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on her.
Cu-Poche Dark Magician Girl has 3 face plates including smile, wink and panic expression. It also includes a magical spell book, 2 effect parts (star and heart), wand and 4 optional hand parts. Magnetic base, posable stand set and a ziplock are also included. The hat is heavy because of a magnet implanted inside it and DMG’s head.
I love that Kotobukiya includes a ziplock bag for Cu-Poche, it is very handy to figure photographers like me because I put the figure inside the plastic whenever I go out and shoot. That way, I won’t be losing any important parts of the figure.
I watched a couple of videos of her in You Tube, just to give me a slight idea of her character. I usually see pink background on her every appearance, so I made a set with all pink-ish with sparkling heart decorations.
Cu-Poche has showed us again its multiple articulation and posability features with Dark Magician Girl. However, because of her off-shoulder outfit somehow limit its posing ability. I wanted to raise her arms a little higher but I couldn’t.
Some of you might be wondering how I made her stand without her base/posable stand set. I decided to use a transparent thread and hang her up so she would appear floating in the air. I removed the visible thread using Photoshop.
I also managed to stand her up using posable stand set (without using the magnetic base) for support.
Cu-Poche Dark Magician Girl is one of the cutest chibis out there and It’s such a great pleasure giving her a figure photography treatment. I really love her cute face expressions especially the winking one. Somehow, it brings a happy feeling when you see her smiley face. She looks perky and determined to win a battle.
I will definitely try her accessories with my other collectibles. I’m sure it’s going to be a lot fun playing with her this coming Halloween.
That’s all for today guys, thanks again for checking this out. See you on my next post! ^_^
I really really like the last pic. It looks comfy. I can imagine the fresh air and soft wind blow through the face. ^^
Hi Peachhy, glad you liked that last photo. It’s a bit nostalgic, it’d be nice if there’s someone sitting beside her too. ^^
The last photo is very nice! ❤
Good work as usual ate sheng 😀
Thanks Ruby!
I forgot to cut the grass around the area but I’m happy you like it >_<
nice review and the photography is super cute again. The floating has a nice touch, since she’s a magician girl, more vivid than dark hehe. I like the winking face of her a lot, also the shocked face looks pretty nice.
I like picture 8 (where she’s riding the broom),9,10,11…ah the cuteness won’t stop ψ(´ڡ`❤)
DMG has over flowing cuteness in every angle and pose she makes. Haha i love that emoticon you did there. :))
Great photos again! But IMO, I like better the previous cu-poches compared to this one. Maybe it’s the hair or something that is off 😀
Really love the bubbles! Great concept on these, and the pictures came out awesome!!
